Well, you could do worse. Couldn?t you? So much for the big sell. Anyway... I?m independent and individual. I?m a gentle soul, the sort who wouldn?t hurt a fly (unless it was really asking for it, like if it spilt my pint or something), but with a gritty/determined side. I'd like to think I?m honest, reliable, decent, pleasant and considerate. No macho bluster, swagger, or any of that nonsense. Someone recently called me a 'lovely man', so I can't be going too far wrong. I won?t say I?m ?fun-loving?, like loads of people do, but I like to enjoy myself ? who doesn?t? I go to the pub once or twice a week, but I'm not a big drinker. I take an interest in what's going on around the world; three years in the USA broadened my outlook, making me realise there's more to the universe than this little island.

I?m usually quite reserved, but can be quite confident and outgoing, depending on who I?m with and what?s going on. Sense of humour? Couldn't choose between dry, goofy, irreverent, light-hearted, obscure, puerile, sarcastic & witty, so I didn't pick any of 'em. I like to talk rubbish now and then. If you want quirks: I drink coffee at ludicrously regular intervals; I?ve never learned to operate a bike or a corkscrew (but I?m OK with cars and bottle openers); a lot of my favourite music is stuff that most people would find unlistenable.

My day job in IT is a bit dull, but I also do some writing, which I do enjoy. I've written a sports history book, due out in October. If something isn?t listed as one of my interests here, it doesn?t mean I?m not interested ? maybe I just haven?t been turned on to it yet. Although I don?t do active/outdoorsy stuff, I often wish I did ? maybe I just need the right company?

Whether this means you should get to know me, well, it depends on what you?re looking for. If you want a smoothie, or someone laddish or aggressive, then I?m not your type, and you?re probably not mine, so let?s not bother. But if you?re prepared to take me for what I am, whatever that is, let?s give it a go.
